About Us

Valatie Community Theatre, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended.

The organization is entrusted with rehabilitating, operating,  and maintaining the historic building at 3031 Main St,  previously a movie theatre built in 1926, out of service for three decades after 1970, then purchased by the village of Valatie.

Our larger purpose, as expressed in our mission statement, is “to create and maintain a vibrant and welcoming performance space in the historic Valatie Theatre, ensuring our productions and performances remain inclusive and affordable. We strive to bring neighbors together, to build connections, instill a love and appreciation of the performance arts, and enrich the lives of our growing community of performers and audiences.”

Community is our middle name. What happens in the theatre is a matter of what we do together.

The Valatie Community Theatre is guided by a volunteer board of directors and like minded members.

We invite you to join our organization and help make the revived theatre continue to blossom in our community.
